Lineup of celebrities grows for Mad Anthonys

Several new celebrities will take part in the 45th annual Mad Anthonys
charity golf tournament Monday at Fort Wayne Country Club.

Though one Red Coat winner as Hoosier Celebrity of the Year, Indiana
basketball coach Mike Davis, will not be golfing, the other winner, actor
Sean Astin, will. He'll be joined by, among others, country and western
singer Steve Azar, Eagles guitarist Don Felder, IU broadcaster Don Fischer,
San Francisco 49ers punter and Fort Wayne native Jason Baker, Kendallville
native and Indiana Pacers center Brad Miller, Notre Dame basketball coach
Mike Brey, Ball State basketball coach Tim Buckley and IU basketball player
Dane Fife.

Other newcomers include Miami University football coach Terry Hoeppner,
Bowling Green basketball coach Dan Dakich, former NFL players Norm Masters and Earl Morrall, Ball State football coach Bill Lynch, two-time Olympic
volleyball player Lloy Ball and IPFW basketball coach Doug Noll.

Among the other pro golfers participating are Jay Don Blake, Robert Gamez, Matt Kuchar and Robert Wrenn from the PGA and Laurie Rinker-Graham, Dianna D'Alessio, Cindy Rarick and Dale Eggeling from the LPGA.

The first groups tee off at 7 a.m., and the afternoon session starts at noon.
Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 the day of. They can be purchased at all
National City Bank branches, Scott's Food Stores, Bobick's and local golf
courses.

Parking and shuttle buses are available at Summit Middle School at the corner of Homestead and Aboite Center roads starting at 6:45 a.m.

The tournament has helped raise nearly $3 million for charity. The Lifetime
Sports Academy at McMillen Park will be the primary charity. Davis and Astin
will be presented with their red coats at the annual dinner Sunday at the
Grand Wayne Center.

Other Red Coat winners who are returning to play are director David Anspaugh, Purdue football coach Joe Tiller, Purdue basketball coach Gene Keady, race car driver Tom Sneva, former Fort Wayne Piston George Yardley and pro golfers Jim Gallagher Jr., Bill Kratzert and Cathy Gerring. Long-drive specialist John Justice will also do drive demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. He's been a World Long Drive Finalist eight times, and is currently ranked No. 1 in the United States and No. 3 in the world.
